2019 Showcase InformationUpdated Saturday February 16, 2019 by Chief Information Officer.
The Baseball and Softball Showcase will take place on March 3rd and March 10th. Baseball players registered to play in minors, majors or intermediates divisions and softball players registered in U8, U10 or U12 divisions should attend one of the two sessions. The Flyer below provides details regarding showcase location, times and links for online registration. All unregistered walk-ups will automatically be placed in the last time slot for their division if slots are available - otherwise they will be asked to return the next week.
Playing up - from time to time there is a player or two whose baseball or softball skills development far surpasses all the players in their age-appropriate division and most of those the division above them. In such cases, the parents/guardians of such players may request that their child be considered to play up one year above their baseball or softball year. In order to do this, the parent/guardian must email the Player Agent, Matt Crawford (firstname.lastname@example.org) prior to the Showcase to notify him of the request and must have their child register and participate in two showcases - the division above in which they are requesting to play and their age-assigned Showcase so that managers of both divisions can weigh in on the decision. Please recognize that in addition to player performance at the showcase, a need must exist whereby the division above is looking to fill an open roster position. For this reason, even those players wishing to move up one division, who perform well in the Showcase may be required to stay in their current division if no roster spots are open in the division above. Please also note that no player can jump two league years - therefore a player baseball aged 9 may not move up from Majors to Intermediates, a softball player age 7 may not move up from U8 to U10 and a softball player age 9 may not move up from U10 to U12.
Playing down - parents/guardians with serious concerns for their child's safety at their age-appropriate division can request to have their child moved down one division. In order to do this, the parent/guardian must email the Player Agent, Matt Crawford (email@example.com) prior to the Showcase to notify him of the request and must have their child register and participate in their age-assigned Showcase so that managers of that division can weigh in on the decision.
